Join the Tendoy Elementary PTA for Free Family Skating Night at Deleta Skating Rink!

Grab the family and join us for Tendoy Elementary PTA Family Skating Night at Deleta Skating Rink on Monday, November 5th!

 

From 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. all paid Tendoy Elementary PTA members and their immediate family will get FREE skating admission!! This is a family event and all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

 

To get your FREE admission, simply show your 2012-2013 Tendoy PTA membership card or tell the Deleta employee at the front desk your name. We will have a list of current paid members at the front desk at the skating rink available for check in.

 

If you're not already a PTA member, don't worry! You can join today by picking up a membership form from the Tendoy school office or during Tendoy PTA Family Skating Night. We will have a membership table set up during the Skating Night for new members to sign up and all new paid members will also receive the free skating admission! Membership is only $7.50 per member and Family Skating Night is only one of the many benefits to joining!!

We hope that everyone will take advantage of this awesome deal and come join us for a night of skating fun at Deleta!

October 22nd-26th is Red Ribbon Week

This week is Red Ribbon Week at Tendoy Elementary and each day will have a different drug-free theme. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday: "Smarties" don't do drugs!
Each student received a package of Smarties candy
Wednesday: "Put a CAP on drugs!"
Students may wear hats to school
Thursday: "Follow your dreams, don't do drugs!"
Students may wear appropriate pajamas to school. Slippers may be worn inside only.
Friday: "I pledge to be DRUG FREE"
Students may wear red or Tendoy pride colors and will sign a pledge to be drug free.

Carnival Tonight!!!

The carnival will be tonight from 5-7:30 p.m. at Tendoy. There will be games and activities outside, as well as in the classrooms this year so be sure to visit them all! The magic show will be held outside on the stage. See you tonight!

Come One, Come All to the Tendoy Elementary PTA Fall Carnival!

This year's carnival is only days away and everything is in line for a wonderful night! We are very excited to bring this event to the students and their families and hope that everyone has a fun experience! Here is a lineup of what will be available for your entertainment:

• Games - There will be favorite games from years past, as well as a few new ones to try out!

• Food - Uncle Jim's Restaurant will be joining us this year, and will be serving a chicken souvlaki wrap, chips, watermelon, a cookie, and a drink, all for one low price! We will also have a popcorn stand and a cotton candy stand, for all your sweet and salty snacking needs.

• Fun - In addition to the games we will also have a face painting booth with 2 artists to keep lines at bay, and balloon animal artists offering some really fun balloons!

• Contests -  All of the student coloring contest entries that the students submitted last week will be displayed throughout the carnival with the winners posted on the PTA board. Also, there will be a Gumball Guess contest where students can win a full container of gumballs!

• Magic! - We are very excited to bring to you a free stage magic show! Magician Cecilia Rupp will bring an array of tricks to wow and amaze! Shows will start at 5:15 p.m. and a new show will start every 25 minutes. You won't want to miss this!

• Fun Photo Opportunities - We will have 2 areas set up where everyone can take a picture as a strong man, an acrobat, or with an array of funny props. Be sure to bring your cameras!!

• Prizes - This year's prize drawing will be bigger and better than ever! Prizes include:
• Family Movie Night Basket with free movie rentals from K & B Video Stop, popcorn from The Popcorn Shop, a large pizza from Papa Murphy's Pizza, and popcorn cups.

Carnival Tickets Go On Sale Wednesday the 19th!

All carnival tickets go on sale starting tomorrow!

Game and Activity tickets are 25 cents each or 6 for $1
Dinner tickets are $4 or $20 for a family of 6 or more
Prize Drawing tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5

Students will be allowed to purchase tickets in their classrooms the first 5 minutes of school before class starts. Avoid the lines and get yours today!

Carnival Update - No Bounce House

We have some bad news about the carnival....We spoke with Tendoy principal, Mrs. Nelson, and she informed us that School District 25 has a policy that there is to be no bounce houses on District property. We apologize to all who were looking forward to that, we too are very disappointed about this set back. However, we are working hard to bring in something just as fun. We will keep you posted on the status of a replacement attraction.

Open Chairs

Thank You Community Care!

The Tendoy PTA would like to send a BIG thanks to Community Care urgent care centers for sponsoring this year's Box Tops for Education drive! They have been very generous in providing prizes for this year's Box Top drive. For the first part of the drive, they will be providing doughnuts to the class that brings in the most Box Tops through October! We truly appreciate the support from Community Care and we are grateful to have such a wonderful sponsor!

In the student's last Friday folder, we sent out a flyer, provided by Community Care, that can be made into a Box Tops holder. Simply cut your Box Tops, place them in the holder, and have your child bring it to school by the last Friday of the month. Each month we will hold a drawing for individual students that brought in their Box Tops and one lucky student will win a prize. On top of that, the class that brings in the most Box Tops collectively will win doughnuts for the entire class!

We would also like to thank all the parents that participate in the Box Tops collection. Your support and commitment to clipping Box Tops is what makes this program a success!

Carnival Committee Meeting

The carnival committee will be having a meeting tomorrow, Wednesday the 5th, at 6 p.m. We will be meeting at Alameda park by the playground. All PTA members are welcome to attend.

Tendoy PTA Fall Carnival

The Tendoy PTA Fall Carnival is quickly coming up! The carnival committee has been hard at work on this and is doing everything we can to make it the best carnival yet! Here is an update of what is going on:

The date of this year's fall carnival will be Wednesday, September 26th from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

We have decided to include some new and exciting additions that we would like to share with everyone. The carnival will have a circus theme this year,"Under the Big Top"! We will have colorful decorations, fun games and contests that will tie into the theme. We will also be having a bounce house and have been discussing other new attractions as well such as a popcorn stand, a cotton candy stand, balloon animals, a student coloring contest, and more!

In order to make this a huge success, we need lots of volunteers! Please consider signing up to help out, or if you know anyone that may want to help, please let us know. 1st Day of School!

Good luck to all our Tendoy Tigers (teachers included :) ) on your first day of school! We would like to remind parents to remember to slow down for school zones. Let's keep our children safe!

Tendoy Elementary Back to School Night Tonight

Tendoy will be holding it's Back to School Night tonight, with the general meeting for students and parents starting at 5 p.m. in the gymnasium. After will be two sets of break out sessions, the first one starting at 5:30 p.m. and the second starting at 6 p.m., during which parents and students are able to meet with teachers in their classrooms. The school is asking that students wait to bring in their supplies until tomorrow morning on the first day of school. This is an exciting opportunity for students to come and meet their new teachers and see their classrooms, and for parents as well!

Tendoy PTA will have a membership table set up during Back to School Night so drop by and say "hi"! We will have general PTA information available, membership information, and volunteer sign up sheets for this year's carnival. There's no better time to join PTA, so come by our table and see what we're all about! We hope to see you there!

Tendoy PTA will be holding a board meeting today at 2:30 p.m. at Tendoy. All board members are asked to attend.

The Carnival Committee will also be meeting today at 3:00 p.m. at Tendoy. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
